Fred Nothnagel

Fred Nothnagel has been the Executive Director of WIND since 1995. He has his own private Career Consulting and Coaching practice and was a Senior Career Management Consultant for 12 years, where he now trains Career Consultants and assists with Senior Executive and technical clients.

An accomplished speaker and facilitator, Fred has given hundreds of workshops on career-related topics and has been an invited speaker at college alumni groups, other networking groups and job fairs. He has also been retained by the U.S. Air Force at Hanscom AFB to conduct training seminars for military and civilian personnel transitioning to civilian life. He gave a keynote address to the 2009 annual conference of the Career Resource Management Association.

Fred has provided customized career assistance to more than 800 executives, mid-level managers and professionals at all levels including business leaders, retiring military officers, lawyers and entrepreneurs. He has assisted their transitions into career positions in dozens of industries including high tech, biotech, medical devices/equipment, non-profits, consulting, hospitality and financial services.

Prior to 1995 Fred succeeded in three other careers in a wide range of industries. Following a few years in a counseling role at a vocational rehabilitation agency, he launched a career in the technology sector as a Production Supervisor and Industrial Engineer at Polaroid Corporation. For the next 12 years he served in a variety of management roles in Engineering, IT and Cost Accounting at Augat, Millipore Corporation and Boston Scientific Corporation.

Fred holds a BA in both Physics and Psychology from Brown University and an MBA in Information Systems from Babson College.
